Paramount Skydance Set to Remove Approximately 2,000 US Jobs – Report

Paramount Skydance is scheduled to begin mass layoffs beginning on 27 October, removing nearly 2,000 American roles under a budget-saving initiative totaling $2bn under top executive David Ellison.

The workforce reduction are a result of the combination between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed this past August with a value of $8.4bn.

More global layoffs are anticipated, as the firm aiming to disclose all specifics via its third quarter earnings report scheduled for November 10.

Previous updates had indicated the firm aimed to cut from 2,000 and 3,000 roles by the beginning of next month.

Until December 2024, Paramount had about 18,600 full- and part-time employees and 3,500 project-based staff.

The company has not yet commented to a request for comment.
